MEDINA AND SUMMIT PORTS ANNOUNCE MEDICAL BUILDING PROJECT
Digestive Disease Consultants of Medina to build new facility in Brunswick

For the third time since entering into a cooperative agreement, the Medina County Port Authority (MCPA) and the Summit County Port Authority (SCPA) recently approved financing to build a new medical office facility on Industrial Parkway North in Brunswick. Digestive Disease Consultants of Medina plans to build a new two-story medical office building.

Through the cooperative agreement between the two ports, Digestive Disease Consultants of Medina will finance the costs of construction with bonds issued by the SCPA. The Summit County Port Authority bonds provide long-term, fixed rate financing for the project and carry a BBB+ rating. The new medical office building will cost approximately $6 million to build.

The medical group plans to begin construction immediately and the 40,000 square-foot facility will be completed by October 2009. Digestive Disease Consultants of Medina is a private medical practice established in 1989, and provides gastroenterology, endoscopy and hepatology services to patients in northeast Ohio. The practice currently employs 22 staff members, with 28 new positions expected within three years of completing the new building.
